Moussa Sissoko has been told that he can leave Tottenham Hotspur.

That is according to The Athletic, who reported last week that Fabio Paratici is not planning to keep the France international in North London.

Considering he’s an £80,000-a-week player, getting him off the wage bill could be ideal for Tottenham

The only problem is, nobody wants to sign him.

Fabrizio Romano revealed via his Twitch channel on Friday that although Sissoko – a £30 million signing in 2016 – isn’t wanted by the Lilywhites, there is currently no interest in the player.

Wage cut

Even if it means taking a wage cut to find a new club, that’s what Sissoko must do.

Quite frankly, there seems no hope of him playing regularly – or at all – during the final year of his contract at Tottenham.

This is a player who turns 32 a little later this month and given that speed is vital to his game, he’s only going to decline from here on in.

And does he really want to spend some precious years of his career fighting for a place on Spurs’ bench at best?

Surely not and therefore the player’s representatives should be doing all they can to facilitate an exit.
