One of the finest creative midfielders in Europe is available for just £12 million. What’s more, he has told his club there’s no chance he’ll extend a contract that expires in summer 2022.
So you can expect RB Leipzig, last season’s Bundesliga runners-up, to make a concerted effort to sell Marcel Sabitzer before the month is out.
And while the set-piece specialist has been framed as a Jose Mourinho target, it seems the former Spurs boss isn’t the only one in north London who would like to see Sabitzer bring those devilish dead balls and long-range rockets to N17.
According to transfer market oracle Fabrizio Romano, there are plenty on the Tottenham board who think highly of Sabitzer.

Whether Fabio Paratici is among them remains to be seen. However, after the Austria international informed Leipzig of his desire to spread his wings and leave the Red Bull Arena behind, this feels like an opportunity too good to miss for a side in dire need of some extra quality in midfield (Goal).
