According to The Telegraph, West Ham are now considering Southampton’s Jannik Vestergaard as they face difficulty in finding a new centre-back.
What’s the story?
Well, David Moyes seems keen to sign a new centre-back, but is having a bit of trouble so far.
The Telegraph explain how Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic is West Ham’s No.1 choice, although he will command a significant amount of cash.
It is also said that the Hammers expressed interest in Kurt Zouma last week, but there has been no progress in their hunt for the Frenchman.
Now, the east Londoners are eyeing Vestergaard, who The Telegraph claim was also a target for West Ham last year.
The 29-cap Denmark international only has one year left on his contract at Southampton.
West Ham must fend off Tottenham

If the Irons are to land the 29-year-old, they will need to fend off interest from their London rivals, Tottenham.
Spurs were said to be in talks with the Saints over a deal for the Dane, who has made 72 appearances in the Premier League.

Having said that, talk of Vestergaard joining Tottenham has gone quiet, and the north Londoners are now close to signing Cristian Romero for £47m.
In that respect, perhaps West Ham might have a free run at signing the Southampton No.4, who cost £18m.
