Manchester City are open to selling Bernardo Silva with Atletico Madrid readying a bid for the Portuguese international.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the impending £100m arrival of Jack Grealish means that the Premier League champions are open to selling one of their top players this summer.

And Silva will likely act as the fall guy for this blockbuster summer transfer.

As per Mundo Deportivo, Silva is keen on a move to Spain. Moreover, both FC Barcelona and Atletico are interested in the midfielder. Furthermore, Diego Simeone’s side are preparing an offer for the 26-year-old playmaker.

With Saul Niguez likely to leave this window, the La Liga champions might need a replacement. And Atletico have selected Silva as their first choice to take over from the Spanish international.

Atletico could be ideal for Silva

Although the former AS Monaco star featured often for City last season, the arrival of Grealish will severely limit the midfielder’s playing time with the Manchester club.

However, it is not yet known where the Aston Villa captain will play under Guardiola, central midfield or left-wing, two positions Silva has played with the club, seem the most likely given City’s squad depth.

Indeed, Silva’s time at City has been a successful one. And although the signing of Grealish will likely push the playmaker out of the Etihad, a move to Atletico would be a smart step in the Portuguese midfielder’s career.
