According to Mundo Deportivo, Philippe Coutinho is on Liverpool’s radar, while Tottenham have also expressed an interest in the Barcelona maestro.
What’s the story?
Well, the Spanish news outlet believe Liverpool are monitoring Coutinho’s situation.
Interestingly, Mundo Deportivo believe Jürgen Klopp could make a move for the 63-cap Brazil international if he loses a star player this summer.
Of course, the Reds know Coutinho well. He made 201 appearances for Liverpool, before leaving to join Barcelona in a deal worth £146m.
Things have gone sour for the 29-year-old in Spain, however.
Coutinho made just eight starts in La Liga last season, and was also loaned out to Bayern Munich for the entirety of the 2019/20 campaign.
Tottenham are more likely to sign Philippe Coutinho

In our view, Tottenham are more likely to sign the playmaker.
Mundo Deportivo believe Spurs will try to sign Coutinho with the Harry Kane money, if he ends up joining Manchester City.
In our view, that’s more likely to happen than Liverpool losing a star name this summer, which is what needs to happen for Klopp to think about a reunion with his former No.10.

Of course, if Liverpool do decide to move for Coutinho, you’d expect them to have the upper hand over Spurs given their relationship with the Brazilian.
Having said that, if Tottenham can sell Kane and make a move quickly, then it seems like a deal could be done.
With Barcelona in a dire financial situation as well, the Coutinho saga is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
