Aston Villa may be losing Jack Grealish, but they are poised to sign Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe on loan.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Tuanzebe is all set for a return to Villa Park having previously spent 18 months on loan there.
Tuanzebe first joined Villa on loan in January 2018, and ended up making 35 appearances for the club whilst winning promotion.
It’s now stated that Tuanzebe will sign a new one-year contract extension at Manchester United and then head on loan to Villa.
That will protect United from losing Tuanzebe for nothing next summer, but the loan could become permanent in 2022.
Tuanzebe allegedly believes that he will land first-team football at Villa Park, even though Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa and Tyrone Mings are settled in the areas where Tuanzebe plays.

The 23-year-old needs first-team football, and whilst Villa have competition for places, Tuanzebe is convinced this is the right move.
This means Newcastle will miss out on signing Tuanzebe having been leading the race, with Dean Smith claiming a transfer win over Steve Bruce just as Grealish prepares to leave for Manchester City.
