Gentleman’s agreement, or no gentleman’s agreement – there are few, if any, excuses for a professional footballer to miss training.

If me or you failed to turn up for work two days in a row, there would definitely be severe repercussions.

Simply put, Harry Kane’s behaviour is not on.

Funnily enough, Danny Rose – who is no longer at Tottenham – has made Kane’s actions look even worse.

What did Danny Rose do?

Well, when he was in the midst of a tough time in N17, not even Rose failed to turn up for training, as Football London revealed at the time.

The left-back was stripped of his shirt number and was made to train with the Under-23 side, but that still didn’t stop him attending.

After suffering such brutal treatment, nobody would’ve blamed Rose for doing what Kane is doing right now.

However, the England international kept turning up, and even offered his vast experience to the younger players.

Elliot Thorpe in particular was very grateful for Rose’s help.

Petulant from Harry Kane

What is Tottenham’s No.10 doing?

Despite his many goals, all Kane has to show for his career is the God-like status he has created for himself at Tottenham.

With his latest actions, he is at risk of throwing that all away.

For Kane to miss training is foolish. It won’t change anything.

At the end of the day, whether he trains or not, it’s down to Manchester City to meet Tottenham’s demands, or the 28-year-old won’t be going anywhere.

Amidst all the uncertainty, one thing Kane should do is take a look at Rose’s professionalism.

After all, having your number taken away and being demoted to the Under-23 setup is much more crushing than Kane’s situation, in our view.
