Chelsea have lost one of their top young talents as Valentino Livramento has left the club for Southampton – and he has posted an emotional farewell.

The Blues likely had high hopes for Livramento; after all, he hit three goals and 10 assists across all games in developmental football last term.

At 18, Livramento is seen as a major talent for the future – but he has now decided he wants first-team football right now.

Livramento has seen Reece James become a first-team star at Chelsea, whilst another former Blues youth right back has starred at Brighton in Tariq Lamptey.

Livramento now wants the same rise for himself, and with just one year left on his contract, he has chosen a move to Southampton.

Goal report that the Saints have paid £5million to sign Livramento, with Chelsea holding a £25million buy-back clause in the deal.

Livramento may end up back at Chelsea one day, but he has now taken to Twitter to discuss his ‘difficult decision’.

The defender admitted he has had 10 ‘amazing’ years at his boyhood club, but now feels he must go to Southampton for his own development.
