Andy Townsend has said on talkSPORT (6:55pm, August 2, 2021) that Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey will not move to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.
The former Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion midfielder cannot see the ex-Arsenal star making the move to Wolves if he leaves Juventus.
Sport reported last month that Wolves as well as Tottenham Hotspur are in talks with Juventus over the signing of the 30-year-old midfielder.
We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
Townsend said on talkSPORT (6:55pm, August 2, 2021): “If Aaron is coming out of Juve, I can’t see him ending up at Molineux, just can’t see that one being a goer.”
Could a Wolves transfer happen?
Ramsey won Serie A with Juventus in 2019-20 and has played in the Champions League.
Wolves are not going to win the Premier League title anytime soon and may not even challenge for the Champions League places.
Moreover, the Wales international midfielder earns £400,000 per week as salary at Juventus, according to BBC Sport.
That is a lot of money for any club to pay.
However, that Wolves are reportedly in talks suggests that they think that they can get Ramsey.
If the Wanderers did not feel even slightly optimistic, then they would not have bothered holding talks.
Perhaps a loan deal could happen, with Juventus paying part of Ramsey’s wages.
