Rangers will face Olympiacos or Ludogorets in the playoff round of the Champions League – if they can get past Malmo – and Gers fans on Twitter think it is the best draw the Ibrox giants could have got.

The Light Blues discovered the final hurdle in their bid to reach the group stage for the first time in more than a decade and land a financial windfall when the draw was made in Switzerland this morning.

Steven Gerrard’s side kick off their campaign tomorrow night when they face Malmo in Sweden, with the return leg at Ibrox next week.

The winners will then welcome the winners between Olympiacos and Ludogorets later this month, with a place in the groups at stake.

Tomorrow’s clash with Malmo will see the Gers make their first appearance in the Champions League in ten years; losing to Malmo at the same stage in 2011.

After avoiding the likes of FC Salzburg and Slavia Prague in the draw, Rangers fans were delighted with their prospects at making the groups this season.

While they admit there is still a massive task facing the Gers to get that far, they are confident the Scottish champions can see off Malmo and set up a playoff with the Greek or Bulgarians.
