Liverpool have reportedly reignited their interest in Real Betis star and Argentina international Guido Rodriguez.
According to La Razon, Reds are plotting a move for the 27-year-old midfielder. Liverpool were keen on Rodriguez earlier in the year, along with Arsenal.
As per the report, Betis are open to selling Rodriguez this summer for just €30m (£25m), a fee well below the South American’s €80m (£68m) release clause.
Liverpool are eager to sign a central midfielder this summer following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to PSG.
Lille star Renato Sanches has been linked with the club as well as Atletico Madrid star Saul Niguez, who has played against Rodriguez on multiple occasions in La Liga.
Indeed, with Betis looking to sell this summer, Rodriguez could be a realistic option for Liverpool this summer.
However, the age of the Argentine international could be a factor for the Reds. At 27, Rodriguez is hitting the prime of his career.

However, it won’t be long before Liverpool will have to start planning on replacing him, as well.
With over a month of the transfer window left to go, Liverpool have time to search for the ideal central midfielder.
Although Rodriguez would be an excellent addition given his domestic and international experience, a younger option could be better for the Merseyside club.
