Manchester City are determined to sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, but they do not want to pay the £160 million transfer fee that club chairman Daniel Levy wants, according to The Daily Star.
What’s the story?
The Daily Star are reporting that City are keen on signing Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham.
The Premier League champions are the frontrunners to secure the services of the England international striker.
City are prepared to pay as much as £120 million for the 28-year-old.
However, Tottenham chairman Levy wants £160 million as transfer fee for Kane.
City are simply refusing to pay that much.
What should Manchester City do?
Tottenham chairman Levy is a very tough negotiator.
The Spurs chief may not be willing to reduce his asking price in the coming weeks.
City need to sign a world-class striker to replace Sergio Aguero in the team.

Kane is world class and, according to Tottenham’s new managing director of football Fabio Paratici in The London Evening Standard last month, “an incredible striker”.
The Englishman has scored 166 goals in 245 Premier League appearances so far in his career.
Yes, the striker has had injury problems in recent years, but there is no doubt that he would be able to make an immediate impact at City and would make Pep Guardiola’s side even stronger in attack.
If City want to dominate English football in the coming years and also win the Champions League, then they should cough up the extra £40 million needed to sign Kane.
