Jermaine Jenas has told The Daily Star that Harry Kane should leave Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester City.
Harry Kane rumour
The Telegraph have reported that City are keen on signing Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old striker himself wants to move to the Premier League champions.
The England international will reportedly tell Spurs chairman Daniel Ley this week that he wants to leave the club for City.
What Jermaine Jenas says
Former Tottenham midfielder Jenas believes that if Kane gets the chance to move to City, then he should take it.
Jenas told The Daily Star: “I think in Kane’s situation, yes I think he should go if he gets the opportunity. I think with Harry, he’s given so much to Tottenham and as I’ve always said, I’ve been at that club and nobody has ever left easy.
“If they ever leave, it’s last minute, on the last day, when Deniel Levy has squeezed every last drop out of the deal that he can get. And with Harry, he’s got three years left on his deal, and I’m like I don’t know how you’re going to get out here mate.
“Because even in an agreement, the state of the club, what would happen to the stock if Harry leaves? None of it makes sense from a business point of view which is where Daniel operates best really.
“So I think Harry is going to struggle, but if he can he should 100% leave. He’s given everything to that football club, it’s time for Harry now, to go and spend the next five years on the world stage playing Champions League football, year in year out, winning trophies winning Premier League titles and scoring goals because he deserves it.”
What should Harry Kane do?
Kane has been at Tottenham his entire professional club football career so far.
The striker is loved and adored by the fans.
Tottenham are a big club with a loyal fanbase and have one of the best stadiums in the world.
However, Spurs are not in a position to win the Premier League title or the Champions League at the moment.
City won the league title last season and also reached the Champions League final.
Then there is Pep Guardiola, arguably the best manager in the world at the moment.
It is going to be extremely tough for Kane – or any other player for that matter – to turn down the opportunity to move to City and win major silverware and play wonderful football.
