Reported Arsenal target Joaquin Correa has told Lazio that he wants to leave, according to TMW.

The Italian news outlet has reported that Correa – the subject of a bid from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal this summer – has told Lazio that they should sell him.

However, the 26-year-old Argentina international forward remains part of Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri’s pre-season plans.

Il Messaggero reported in June that Arsenal made a bid of €20 million (€17.09m) for the Argentina international.

Lazio turned it down.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Should Arsenal try again?

Correa wants to leave, and it is hard to see Lazio keep a player against his wishes.

Of course, clubs will have to pay what the Italian outfit want for the 26-year-old.

If Arsenal made a bid for the former Sevilla man in June, then they should try again.

Correa is a versatile player who can operate as a deep-lying forward or supporting striker.

The Lazio man can also play as a centre-forward or on the left wing.

The Argentine scored eight goals and gave three assists in Serie A last season.

Correa also scored three goals and gave two assists in the Champions League in 2020-21.
