Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe is keen on a move to Newcastle United, according to The Chronicle.

Newcastle reportedly want to sign former Aston Villa loanee Tuanzebe on loan from United in the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old central defender is claimed to be ‘keen’ on a loan move.

The Telegraph reported last week that Newcastle have held talks with the Red Devils over the former England Under-21 international.

Could a Newcastle United transfer happen?

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said this week that it is likely that Tuanzebe will go out on loan.

After all, the Red Devils are signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.

Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are the other options for Solskjaer at centre-back.

Tuanzebe made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for United last season.

The youngster made one start and two substitute appearances in the Europa League and played 203 minutes in the Champions League.

Newcastle manager Steve Bruce clearly wants the defender.

Bruce worked with Tuanzebe at Villa, and he will know how to get the best out of him.

A loan move to Newcastle where he could get decent playing time would be a good idea for Tuanzebe.
