According to The Telegraph in an article penned by the ever-reliable John Percy, Manchester City have made a £100m offer for Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish.

The £100m fee would shatter the current British transfer record, which currently stands at £89m set back in 2016 when Paul Pogba joined Manchester United.

We’ve long wondered who the first £100m footballer in England would be, and it seems as though Grealish could be that man, should Villa choose to accept this offer.

It’s incredible that Grealish has gotten to this point. It was only a few years ago that he was playing Championship football with Villa, and now he could become the most expensive player in Premier League history.

It’s a testament not only to Grealish’s talent but also to Villa’s incredible transformation in recent years.

Now both Villa and Grealish have a huge decision to make.

Will the Midlands club be able to turn down £100m for their best player? Will Grealish want to leave his boyhood club in search of silverware?

These are questions both parties now have to ask themselves, and with that much money on the table, it may not be long before we have answers.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on in the coming days.
