Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter are reacting to a report about Christian Eriksen, their former player.

According to Sky Sports News, Eriksen is due back at Inter Milan next week to see if he can resume his playing career.

The Denmark international, who spent six-and-a-half years at Tottenham until 2020, suffered a cardiac arrest in his nation’s Euro 2020 opener against Finland in June.

The 29-year-old has since been fitted with a defibrillator but he will not be able to continue his playing career if he cannot perform without it.

The report adds that whatever happens, Eriksen won’t be back on the pitch this year even if things go well during his examinations in Italy next week.

Here’s how some Tottenham fans reacted to the possibility of their former star being able to continue.

Eriksen, a father of two, had just won Serie A under Antonio Conte – who has since left Inter – only weeks before collapsing on the field for Denmark.

Considering the man is only 29, it would be a tragedy if he has to hang up his boots,in this the prime of his career, but it’s nothing compared to how tragic things could have very easily went only last month.
