Popeil’s family confirmed that he passed away on July 28th after he experienced a severe medical emergency. He was 86 years old.
The inventor died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, surrounded by family members.
Popeil was best-known for creating the concept of ‘infomercial’ in the 1950s and inventing numerous innovative products. He founded Ronco in 1964, a company that manufactured and sold kitchen appliances and accessories.
