Manchester City are in talks with Phil Foden and John Stones over new contracts, as well as Ederson as the Brazilian nears a three-year extension, according to The Athletic.
The Citizens have made it their target to negotiate new terms with several of their key first-team players. They also want to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s title-winning squad with new signings, amid talks for Jack Grealish and Harry Kane.
Manchester City last extended Ederson’s deal in 2018 after winning his first Premier League. The terms extended his Etihad Stadium stay until 2025, but The Athletic expect a three-year add-on will soon be agreed. The goalkeeper has 95 clean sheets in 192 games for the club.

Manchester City are also in talks with Stones and Foden over new contracts, and will offer Raheem Sterling new terms. Stones is in the final year of his £100,000-per-week deal, but it is unlikely to complicate his Etihad Stadium future.
The Citizens were forced to sell Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich last summer as the winger had entered the final 12-months of his contract. City chiefs are now keen to avoid falling into that situation with other players, hence the raft of contract talks.
Gabriel Jesus may be next in line for a new deal, but Manchester City are yet to decide on the striker’s future. They could yet sell the Brazilian with Juventus interested in a deal for the 24-year-old. The Sun also claim he could replace Kane if he leaves Tottenham Hotspur.
New Stones contract vital for Manchester City
A new contract for Stones will be vital with the Manchester City defender in the final year of his deal. Guardiola will be loath to see the England international refuse terms and leave for free or force the Citizens to sell him this summer, to avoid a total loss on their £47.5m man.
Stones had endured difficulties in previous years but formed a formidable partnership with Ruben Dias last season. The pair featured 29 times together, conceded just 14 goals and kept 18 clean sheets. The Citizens also only lost three times when both were on the pitch.
Guardiola even hailed Stones for how he turned his form around in January. Noting, via Sky Sports: “If there is one guy who deserves the best it is John. He’s struggled a lot, but he’s a fantastic human being. His parents must be so proud.”
