Some Celtic fans on Twitter are responding to Erik Sviatchenko’s one-word message.
There was heartbreak for Celtic in Denmark last night as Ange Postecoglou’s side got knocked out of the Champions League qualifiers by Midtjylland.
Callum McGregor fired the Hoops ahead to give them a 2-1 aggregate lead early in the second half.
But the hosts wound up going through after extra time.
Former Celtic defender Sviatchenko was on the winning side against his old club, with some fans of the Scottish giants being upset with Midtjylland’s theatrics on the night.
But the Parkhead faithful still hold the Danish centre-back in high esteem.
Here’s how they responded to his tweet:
Warm
Not only did Sviatchenko win five major honours during his two-year spell in Glasgow, but he has continued supporting them.
The 29-year-old left Scotland to return to his homeland in 2018 but the big man still often tweets about Celtic and interacts with supporters, which is probably why the reception to this tweet is as warm as it is.
This will be Celtic’s fourth-successive year with no Champions League football.
Instead, the best that the Bhoys can now hope for is to qualify for the Europa League.
And Postecoglou’s side go the Czech Republic next week for a first-leg clash with Jablonec in the third round of qualifiers for Europe’s secondary competition.
