Arsenal’s pre-season preparations continued on Wednesday with a win over Watford – and Miguel Azeez got himself on the scoresheet.

The Gunners are just over a couple of weeks away from their first Premier League game of the season, and are busy preparing for the clash with Brentford.

Mikel Arteta may want a new midfielder on board before that game, but youngster Azeez is staking a claim for involvement this term.

Azeez featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Watford on Wednesday, but it was another Hale End talent with the opening goal as Eddie Nketiah scored.

Philip Zinckernagel profited from slack play by Mohamed Elneny to equalise, only for the Gunners to run riot in the second half.

Alexandre Lacazette scored from the spot, Kieran Tierney smashed in a close-range effort and Azeez capped off the win with a beautiful curling left-footed strike.

Azeez, 18, has been touted as one of the next great Arsenal youngsters to emerge in the first team alongside Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe.

He is still waiting for Arteta to give him a role in the Arsenal side, but having impressed against Watford, he has again shown his quality at such a young age.

Arsenal fans are raving about Azeez on Twitter, branding him ‘special’ and ‘cold’ whilst backing him for a ‘breakout season’, feeling that he needs to play ahead of Mohamed Elneny this season.
