Celtic are reportedly interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur keeper Joe Hart.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Hoops are in ongoing negotiations for the former England international. However, Spurs could be open to selling Hart with the club signing Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta this summer.
Indeed, Celtic are searching for a new number one goalkeeper this summer. The Glasgow giants are eager to catch up with Rangers following last season’s horror show. And Hart has seemingly emerged as a target.
As reported by the Scottish Sun, Fraser Forster is also on Ange Postecoglou’s watch list. Moreover, the Southampton keeper has also rejected a new contract with the south coast side as per the report.
With Hart effectively becoming Tottenham’s third-choice keeper this summer, it seems logical that the £52,000-a-week Premier League player will be a target for Celtic.
Celtic fans don’t want Hart
However, fans on social media are not so sure about a move for the 34-year-old keeper.
Hart has not been an established number one at a club since the 2016/17 season with Serie A side Torino.
Since then, the former England international has been reduced to a second-choice role at the likes of West Ham United, Burnley and now Tottenham. Moreover, some Celtic fans believe he would not be an improvement.
Here’s what some supporters had to say on Twitter about Celtic opening discussions with Hart…
