AS Monaco are reportedly keen on Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock, who is also a target for Newcastle United.

According to RMC Sport, the Ligue 1 side view the England talent as a potential alternative to Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Jean Lucas.

Indeed, Monaco are struggling to agree on a deal with their French rivals for the Brazilian.

With a transfer stalling for Lucas, Monaco have switched their attention to alternative targets. And Willock has now appeared on Niko Kovac’s radar.

Although the Arsenal midfielder’s future is up in the air as things stand, Willock has featured in all three of the Gunners’ pre-season friendlies. Moreover, rumours around a return to Newcastle still linger.

Indeed, with the Gunners short in the attacking midfield role, there is a chance that Willock will remain with the club this summer.

However, fans on social media are open to the youngster leaving for Monaco if the French side can pay a high fee for the England star.

Furthermore, some Arsenal supporters have suggested that Monaco should offer Aurelien Tchouameni in return for Willock. Indeed, the 21-year-old French youngster is one of Ligue 1’s most exciting talents.
