Arsenal and Aston Villa are set to miss out on Marcus Bettinelli to Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea, according to The Daily Mail.
What’s the story?
The Daily Mail reported last week interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Dean Smith’s Villa in Bettinelli.
The 29-year-old goalkeeper is a free agent at the moment, having left Fulham.
It was reported last week that Arsenal and Villa both want to sign the Englishman this summer.
Chelsea decision
However, The Daily Mail are reporting this morning that Bettinelli has decided to join Chelsea.
The goalkeeper has turned down advances from Villa and will undergo a medical at the 2021 Champions League winners in the next 48 hours.

Sensible decision?
Bettinelli will be the third-choice goalkeeper at Chelsea behind Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga.
At Arsenal, the 29-year-old would have been the second choice between Bernd Leno.

At Villa, the former Fulham man would have been behind Emiliano Martinez in the pecking order.
Bettinelli would have struggled for playing time at Villa and Arsenal, and he would not get much playing time at Chelsea.
However, Chelsea win trophies regularly and are probably offering him more salary.
It makes sense that Bettinelli is joining the Blues.
