Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri wants to leave Anfield this summer, with Lazio and Napoli leading the race, according to The Athletic.
What’s the story?
The report published at 11:30am this morning has claimed that Shaqiri has told Liverpool that he wants to leave.
Lazio and Napoli are leading the race for the 29-year-old.
Both the Italian clubs have been in contact with the winger’s representatives.
Liverpool are looking for £12 million as transfer fee for the former Stoke City winger.
Liverpool exit inevitable?
It seems that Shaqiri will leave Liverpool for good this summer.
After all, if the winger has told the Reds’ board that he wants to leave, then it is hard to see the former Premier League champions keep him against his wishes.
The Reds’ asking price of £12 million for the former Inter Milan and Bayern Munich winger is not really much.

Both Lazio and Napoli will surely be able to afford it.
Shaqiri has been a squad player at Liverpool since he joined from Stoke in 2018, although he is a Premier League and Champions League winner with the Merseyside club.
The Liverpool no.23 made five starts in the Premier League and one start in the Champions League last season.
