Celtic are in talks to sign Royal Antwerp defender Aurelio Buta, and those negotiations are progressing well ahead of a potential deal.
That’s according to Voetbal Nieuws, who claim that talks between Celtic and Royal Antwerp are moving forward after an initial bid.
Celtic allegedly offered €2.5million (£2.15million) but Royal Antwerp are holding out for €3.5million (£3million), meaning Celtic are just £850,000 away from a deal.
That really doesn’t seem like a lot, especially as £3million isn’t exactly a huge price to pay for an exciting right back like Buta.
The 24-year-old has blistering pace and and a great engine to get up and down the right flank, and he even notched an assist for Royal Antwerp against KV Mechelen on Sunday.
Buta has recorded 19 assists and two goals in 108 games for the Belgian outfit, showing his attacking threat if given the opportunity.

Anthony Ralston simply isn’t good enough, and Buta could be the man to take over Celtic’s right back spot not just right now, but for years to come.
Maybe Celtic are waiting to see how their Champions League qualification campaign goes, but fans would surely feel aggrieved if the Bhoys miss out on Buta over less than £1million.
