Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are praising Albert Sambi Lokonga’s debut for the club this afternoon.

Earlier this week, the Gunners announced that they had signed the 21-year-old midfielder from Anderlecht.

Lokonga becomes Arsenal’s second signing of the summer and today, fans of the North London club were given their first glimpse of the player.

Mikel Arteta’s side took on Millwall in a behind-closed-doors friendly, with the Premier League outfit winning 4-1.

And Arteta unleashed Lokonga for the second half, subbing him on at the break.

And suffice to say that Arsenal fans liked what they saw from the player. Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter:

Partey partner?

With this being a friendly, it wouldn’t have mattered if the young midfielder dazzled or scored a hat-trick of own goals in the top bin.

But it was an accomplished first showing nonetheless and Arsenal fans are right to be excited by him.

It’ll be fascinating to see how much of a role Arteta gives him, though.

The Emirates Stadium club have already loaned out Matteo Guendouzi, while Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are also likely to leave before the end of the window.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal signed him as a first teamer, perhaps to partner Thomas Partey in midfield, or to be a squad player initially.

In all probability, Arteta won’t know himself, which means Lokonga can stake a real claim to start alongside Partey if he continues to impress.
