Rangers fans have had their first look at what appears to be the new 2021/22 away kit after an image was shared on social media – and Gers fans on Twitter are appalled at the new shirt, with some branding it the worst ever.
The black and red shirt is shown modelled by Rangers star Kemar Roofe in an image shared on Twitter by well-known Gers pub The Louden Tavern.
The new shirt is expected to be released this month but it hasn’t gone down well with fans at all.
After the success of the new home kit being released last month, fans were hoping for another cracking effort from Rangers and Castore but have been left with something that looks more like a training top.
With the Gers facing Brighton then Real Madrid this weekend, there wouldn’t be a better time to release the new kit with over 20000 fans expected at Ibrox over the next few days.
While the photo shared isn’t the best, appearing to be a photo on the shop window at Ibrox, the kit might look better in person than it does in photos.
The orange/gold trim and lettering is particularly unpopular with supporters, as is the flourish on the collar and it doesn’t appear that Castore will be inundated with fans looking to buy it.
However, with another two kits to release this season – one next month and one in October – there’s more opportunities for Castore to get it right.
As supporters await the official release of the away kit, the early response is far from positive from the Rangers fans.
