Chelsea are interested in bringing reported Everton target Sergio Romero to Stamford Bridge, according to The Telegraph.
What’s the story?
The Telegraph are reporting that Chelsea are considering a move for former Manchester United goalkeeper Romero.
The Argentine goalkeeper is out of contract at United and is a free agent at the moment, having parted company with the Red Devils at the end of last season.
Chelsea, who won the Champions League last season, are looking for a new third-choice goalkeeper.
One of the candidates the Blues are considering is Romero.
No transfer to Everton?
Chelsea’s reported interest in Romero may be of interest to Everton.
That’s because the Toffees have been linked with a move for the 34-year-old goalkeeper this summer.
The Athletic reported in June that Everton were in talks with Romero, who was earning £100,000 per week as salary at United.

However, the Merseyside club signed Asmir Begovic from Bournemouth this week.
It is unlikely that Everton will move for Romero as well now.
Perhaps the Toffees not signing the Argentine could actually help him get a move to Chelsea, who will be aiming to win the Premier League title next season.
