According to a report by Goal, Liverpool staff members have noticed a physical change in Harvey Elliott this summer.

Indeed, some of Liverpool’s coaching staff have reportedly noted that the teenager is looking leaner, fitter and sharper than he did this time last year.

At the age of just 18, Elliott is still growing, and it seems as though he’s really coming into his own in a physical sense.

Elliott certainly has the technical ability to be a star at this level, after all, Stewart Downing once described him as ‘frightening’ and now it seems as though he’s developing other sides of his game.

With Liverpool signing Elliott as a 16-year-old, the winger could have been moulded into any type of player, but with the youngster becoming leaner, fitter and sharper, it seems as though he’s working on becoming more agile and quick rather than bulky and strong.

Elliott’s physical development isn’t over yet, but it’s interesting to hear that the staff have noticed a change in him from this time last year.

It seems as though that loan spell to Blackburn Rovers has done the former Fulham man the world of good, and now he may be ready to make an impact at first-team level for the Reds.
