Liverpool are interested in bringing AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie to Anfield, according to journalist Claudio Ramondi on Sport Mediaset.
What’s the story?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Ramondi has claimed that Liverpool have already made an approach for Kessie.
The former Premier League champions have been in touch with the Ivory Coast international’s agent George Atangana.
Liverpool are willing to pay as much as €8 million (£6.83m) per season as salary.
On their part, Milan want to renew the contract of the 24-year-old and are willing to pay him €6 million (£5.13m) per year net.
That’s according to Ramondi, who has over 23,000 followers on Twitter and almost 20,000 on Instagram.
Could a transfer happen?
La Gazzetta Dello Sport has also reported interest from Liverpool in Kessie.
It is understandable.
Georginio Wijnaldum is no longer at Liverpool, and manager Jurgen Klopp could do with a replacement midfielder.
Now, Milan are a massive club and will play in the Champions League next season, but Liverpool are a big draw as well.

The Reds have won the Premier League and the Champions League in recent years.
If Liverpool make a big offer for the former Atalanta star, then a deal could happen.
However, it is unlikely that a transfer will happen right now.
That’s because Kessie – described as “devastating” and compared to former Barcelona and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure by ex-AS Roma and Real Madrid player Antonio Cassano in Calciomercato in March 2021 – is playing for the Ivory Coast at the Tokyo Olympics at the moment.
