Has Kingdom been renewed for season 3?

  • At the time of writing, Netflix’s hit Korean zombie series has not been officially renewed for a third season, but fans shouldn’t panic just yet as the series is highly likely to return at some point.

Not only is Kingdom one of the most popular Korean series on the entire platform, but has become a staple of the Netflix’s international content. The first season scored an incredible 8.4/10 on IMDB and 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, with the season matching these ratings.

However, fans can sleep easy knowing that the production team are also confident that the show will return.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Kim Eun-hee said that “there’s so much more to tell and if viewers allow, I would love to see it develop even up to season 10.”

At an event in early-2021, the director Kim Sung Hoon said that the recent special Ashin of the North “will be a stepping stone to go beyond Kingdom [season] 3.”
