Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Don Robbie YouTube channel that Tottenham Hotspur director of football Fabio Paratici is convinced that Bryan Gil can be the next Federico Chiesa.

Bryan Gil to Tottenham rumour

It was well-known and well-respected journalist Romano who first broke the story that Tottenham are chasing Sevilla winger Gil.

Spurs plan to sign 20-year-old Spain international winger Gil from Sevilla and send Argentina international attacker Erik Lamela to the La Liga outfit.

Tottenham will have to pay money as well to get the deal done.

SkySport and The Guardian journalist Romano has said that Tottenham’s new director of football Paratici is convinced that Gil is the new Chiesa.

It was Paratici who signed 23-year-old Italy international and Euro 2020 winner Chiesa from Fiorentina for Juventus on a two-year loan deal last summer.

What Fabio Paratici thinks

Romano said on Don Robbie YouTube channel: “They are convinced that he could be like a Federico Chiesa deal for Fabio Paratici. This is what I am told.

“Fabio Paratici signed Federico Chiesa last year from Fiorentina, and many people here in Italy said it was a lot of money, it could reach around €60 million (£51. 31m) with add-ons included.

“Fabio Paratici is convinced that Bryan Gil could be the next Federico Chiesa. That’s why he decided to go for him.”

Exciting for Tottenham Hotspur fans

Gil is very young, but the Spain international has a lot of potential.

Given the work Paratici did at Juventus, you have to admit that the Italian has a good eye for quality players.

Gil has not made a massive impact at Sevilla, but he has already earned three caps for Spain.

The 20-year-old winger scored four goals and gave three assists in 28 La Liga appearances during his loan spell at Eibar last season.
