The start time for EA Play 2021 is fast approaching and there’s plenty to be excited about. We know that the new and mysterious Battlefield 2042 mode will be revealed, but there’s also rumours that Dead Space will return.

Although Skate 4 was recently updated, we know that it will not be at the event. In addition, our aching hearts have also been prepared for Dragon Age 4 and Mass Effect absences.

While the three aforementioned games are huge misses, here’s hoping the show delivers with the return of Resident Evil in space.

What time does EA Play 2021 start?

The start time for EA Play 2021 is 10:00 PT, 13:00 ET, and 18:00 BST on July 22nd.

It will be roughly 40-minutes long, and it will be hosted by WWE wrestler Austin Creed (Xavier Woods). You will be able to watch it live on either Twitch or YouTube.

We don’t know everything that will be shown during the event, but there shouldn’t be too much FIFA – if any – as it recently received its own dedicated showing.

Dead Space rumour

There are rumours that Dead Space will return at EA Play 2021, but it will be a remake rather than a sequel according to reports.

Push Square journalist Jeff Grubb has reported that the rumoured title will be a remake with modern visuals and new mechanics. This has seemingly been corroborated by Eurogamer, and a good point of reference is possibly the retelling of Resident Evil 2.

It’s reportedly developed by EA Motive (the folks behind Star Wars Squadrons), and – if true – we’re massively excited. The first game in the trilogy is the best by far, and it would be a wonderful nightmare come true to revisit the Ishimura.

Battlefield 2042 new mode

DICE’s new Battlefield 2042 mode will be revealed during the 40-minutes event, and its recent teaser possibly hints at the return of the Bad Company 2 map, Valparaiso.

Not much is known about the mysterious mode other than it will feature fan-favourite maps from the series’ history. Aside from the enigma set to be revealed, the confirmed modes so far are All-Out Warfare and Hazard Zone.

While the reveal of Bad Company 2‘s Valparaiso would cause fans to erupt in glee, we’re instead simply hoping for an open beta release date.
