According to Sky Sports, West Ham are interested in signing Liverpool colossus Nat Phillips, after his fine efforts in 2020/21.
What’s the story?
Well, Sky Sports add that Newcastle, Burnley and Brighton are also keen on a move for the 24-year-old.
Phillips enjoyed a stunning 2020/21 campaign for Liverpool, in which he played a starring role in strange circumstances, amid an injury crisis.
The Bolton-born defender made 20 appearances in all competitions as Liverpool finished third.
Now, after Liverpool slapped a £15m asking price on the Englishman’s head, it seems a four-club transfer tussle has broken out.
Coincidentally, he also made his Premier League debut against West Ham back in October, and received the Man of the Match award.
In total, he’s made 17 Premier League appearances.
Nat Phillips is close to leaving Liverpool

This should be of interest to West Ham, Newcastle and Brighton.
The Daily Star recently revealed that Phillips was close to leaving Anfield, and was heading to Burnley.
A deal with Sean Dyche’s side is yet to be finalised, however.

In that respect, you would think West Ham have a good chance of signing Phillips, if they offered the same terms as Burnley.
David Moyes can offer Phillips Europa League football, which could see him reject Burnley and head to east London instead, in our view.
With Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip at Anfield, Phillips should definitely leave if he wants regular game time.
