According to Duncan Castles, Tottenham are now interested in signing FC Porto speedster Jesus Corona, who is also a target for Arsenal.

What’s the story?

Well, Castles revealed the news while speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast.

He claimed that Tottenham are eyeing the 51-cap Mexico international, who would provide serious competition for Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty.

Corona absolutely dominates the right flank for FC Porto.

As Transfermarkt shows, the 28-year-old played at right-back, right-midfield and also as a right-sided forward last season, to great effect.

Corona scored three goals and provided 13 assists, which is a fantastic amount of goal involvements – he’s incredibly attack minded.

Watch out for Arsenal

According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are also keen on FC Porto’s No.17.

They believe Mikel Arteta is eyeing the Mexican as a replacement for Willian, who endured an underwhelming debut campaign in north London.

Interestingly, FC Porto are trying to sell Corona, as he is refusing to extend his contract with the Portuguese giants.

He has a £21m release clause in his contract at the Estádio do Dragão.

That is fairly affordable for leading Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Tottenham, in our view.

In that respect, perhaps we’ll see a bidding war break out between the two north London rivals.
