Actress to star in Black Panther 2
33-year-old Michaela is an incredibly talented actress who wrote, directed and acted in HBO Max’s series I May Destroy You. She received four Emmy nominations for the same.
Although we know that she is set to be a part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever cast, so far Marvel has not revealed which role she has been cast for.
According to Variety, insiders claim that Michaela has joined director Ryan Coogler at Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, the production location for the project. Marvel Studios has declined to comment on the matter for now.
Aside from her grand performance in the HBO series, the British actress’ acting credits include Netflix’s Black Mirror and Chewing Gum. She has also acted in feature films like Been So Long and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Fans think she will play Storm
Both Marvel Studios and Michaela remain tight-lipped about the character she is playing. However, the most popular fan theory suggests she will play Storm, the mutant from X-Men Universe, who also makes an appearance in the Black Panther world.
If Marvel does introduce Storm in Black Panther 2, she will be the first mutant to enter the storyline. Comic fans would already know that Storm was a major ally of Wakanda in the comics.
In fact, our thunder raising queen was even married to King T’Challa. Given the key role, X-Men’s Storm will play in the Black Panther storyline, and how talented Michaela really is, one cannot blame fans for believing that she is playing Storm.
However, some fans believe that the British actress could play Aneka, Dora Milaje’s second commander Ayo’s partner.
Others think she could make a great Madam Slay too.
