Some Liverpool fans on social media are far from happy after it was reported that Bayer Leverkusen have joined the race to sign Nat Phillips this summer.

Phillips has been linked with a number of clubs, and sadly, it seems as though it may just be a matter of time before he leaves Anfield.

Indeed, Phillips didn’t put a foot wrong last season, he finished third in the club’s Player of the Year voting and he played with his heart on his sleeve.

Phillips was arguably the Reds’ best defender last term, and what’s his reward? Being sold to another club and not given a chance to compete with the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate for a starting spot.
