Rangers fans have taken to Twitter in furious fashion after Celtic made an announcement regarding their friendly against West Ham.
What’s the story?
Well, Celtic announced yesterday that their clash with the east Londoners would see 18,500 fans in attendance.
The Bhoys met with the local Safety Advisory Group before making the announcement.
Ange Postecoglou’s side will also be able to welcome 24,500 at the following game in Paradise, which sees Dundee visit Parkhead.
This is great news for Celtic, but the Rangers fans are seething.
Why has this upset Rangers fans?
Well, it’s no surprise to see the huge amount of angry responses.
Rangers host Brighton on Saturday, where they’ll only be allowed to welcome 8,500 fans into Ibrox, as per their own announcement.
Steven Gerrard’s side then host Real Madrid the following day, where we’ll see a slight increase in supporters – 12,750 are allowed inside the ground.
So, why are Celtic allowed so many more fans inside the stadium for their upcoming games?
Well, that’s a mystery, a mystery that has infuriated the Rangers fans and rightly so.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying on Twitter after Celtic’s announcement caught their attention…
More than double what we have? How does that work then? pic.twitter.com/qL9kYQ3K5b— Heart & Hand Podcast (@ibroxrocks) July 21, 2021
I would hope and assume our club would be vigorously challenging this— Four Lads Had a Dream (@4ladshadadream) July 21, 2021
No matter how you look at it, factoring in Livingston, it’s not correct at all
Almost like the Government/council don’t have a clue, or they do and it’s calculated, I mean it wouldn’t be on purpose, would it?
Absolutely disgusting, although to be honest it’s not surprising. Even from a business perspective, unfair competitive advantage as one club is allowed to generate twice the revenue of another comparable club (in terms of size).— Brads (@alanbradley) July 21, 2021
GCC and Football authorities should be ashamed.
The club need to seek answers on this that’s a disgrace— 🏆x55 (@cccc18721972) July 21, 2021
