Martin Braithwaite’s agent has rubbished speculation linking the Barcelona striker with a move to Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers, while speaking to BT.
And when we say Martin Braithwaite’s agent, we don’t mean Jorge Mendes.
Spanish publication Sport claimed earlier this week that Mendes was hoping to strike a deal that would see one of Denmark’s Euro 2020 heroes join Wolves in a deal worth around £13 million.
It is not Mendes who represents Braithwaite, however, but Hasan Cetinkaya.
And Cetinkaya was not exactly thrilled about reports suggesting that the future of one of his most high-profile clients could be decided by a rival agent.
Is Wolves target Martin Braithwaite staying at Barcelona?
“All these stories are false,” Cetinkaya said of a man who started just 11 La Liga games for Barcelona last season.
“Jorge Mendes has nothing to do with Martin Braithwaite. He can focus on Wolves, but I take care of my players at Barcelona.
“Martin Braithwaite plays for the biggest club in the world and works with one of the most important coaches in the world. From day one until now, he’s exceeded expectations in terms of playing time and wellbeing at the club, and he’s very happy.

“He was one of the best players at the European Championship with incredible statistics – and he’ll continue with Barcelona.”
Is that the end of that then, an Olympic swimming pool’s amount of water poured on speculation linking Braithwaite with not just Wolves but also West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Norwich City and Burnley?
Well, perhaps not.
Cash-strapped Barca are desperate to sear the fat from a bloated squad and they would happily cash in on a man who has fallen ever further down the pecking order at the Camp Nou following the arrivals of Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay.
This saga is not over just yet.
