Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after seeing what Bernard messaged Lucas Digne on Instagram.

What’s the story?

Well, the Brazilian was wishing Digne a Happy Birthday on Instagram when he let slip that he’ll be leaving Goodison Park.

Bernard wrote: “HB my bro. I will always wish you and your family the best in your life. I love you, and I’ll miss the 1,2.”

The South American’s message is quite ambiguous, as it could also be implied that he’s saying goodbye to Digne.

However, if the Liverpool Echo are to be trusted, it does sound as if it’s Bernard who’ll be leaving Merseyside, rather than the left-back.

Clubs from Greece, Russia and the United Arab Emirates want the 28-year-old, and talks are underway regarding Bernard’s exit.

Bernard’s exit should give Rafa Benitez some funds

While no transfer fee is mentioned by the Liverpool Echo, Bernard leaving Goodison Park should still give Rafa Benitez some money to play with.

The diminutive playmaker is Everton’s highest earner, taking home £120,000-a-week despite being far from a key player.

With that money off the wage bill, Benitez could sign two £60,000-a-week players of real quality.

For now, let’s see what the Everton fans on Twitter have been saying about Bernard’s message to Digne…
