Liverpool are interested in Arsenal target, Ruben Neves, according to Alex Crook.

The talkSPORT reporter claimed on Wednesday that Manchester United playmaker, Bruno Fernandes, is ‘actively’ trying to bring the Wolves man to Old Trafford, as Arsenal’s interest in him has ‘gone cold’.

Neves has been at Wolves since 2017 when they were in the Championship and he isn’t the first player from Molineux linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

Crook shared that Wolves are willing to part ways with the £35 million-rated player, as he shared his thoughts on Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United’s stance on the player.

“This is another player Mikel Arteta has been monitoring closely,” said Crook. “But I think the trail seems to have gone cold there when it comes to Neves and Arsenal.

“Wolves have their price-tag, £35 million. They are willing to do business to generate funds for their new manager. Liverpool were mentioned to me this morning.

“And there is definite interest from Manchester United as well. What’s interesting here is Neves is a Portuguese teammate of Bruno Fernandes and he is actively trying to push Neves towards Old Trafford.”

Neves isn’t a box-to-box midfielder but a quick-thinking technical talent, who likes to dictate play from deep, ping balls out to the flanks like he is Paul Scholes and score some belters from distance.

All three clubs interested could do with Neves’ talents, but perhaps what would be off-putting is his lack of defensive qualities.

Neves has great positional sense in the defensive third, but he’s not a typical hard-hitting or aggressive defensive midfielder.
