My Roommate Is a Gumiho is an adaptation based on a webtoon of the same name by Na Jakka. The series is directed by Nam Sung-Woo and Park Joon Hwa.

So, what do we know about My Roommate Is a Gumiho Season 2?

My Roommate is a Gumiho Season 2: Renewal and release date

  • My Roommate is a Gumiho would have to ‘think outside the fox’ to return for S2, as the series has not been renewed, nor is it likely to due to the way Season 1 concluded.

The end of Season 1 wrapped up everything for Lee Dam and Shin Woo-yeo as he is reborn and reconciles with his love. Hye-Sun eventually tells Jae-Jin also get their happy ending, not leaving much wiggle room for the series to continue.

In saying this, the series has proven to be popular, sitting at 4.9/5 on Google reviews, 8.5 on My Drama List and 8.8/10 on RatinGraph. The finale was rated 4.571% in Seoul alone when it aired and throughout the series it held “average nationwide rating of 4.0 percent”. Therefore, it would be popular enough to warrant a renewal, should creators choose to do so, no questions asked.

Should the series be renewed, HITC expects it would return in the Summer of 2022, which would be a year from the release of the first season. If the series does continue for Season 2, we expect an announcement would be made in the coming weeks.

Plot and cast for Season 2 of the hit series

Please note: This article may contain spoilers!

Should the series return for Season 2, we can expect the following cast members:

  • Hyeri Lee as Lee Dam.
  • Jang Ki-Yong as Shin Woo-Yeo.
  • Kang Han-na as Yang Hye-sun.
  • Kim Do-wan as Do Jae-jin.
  • Choi Woo-sung as Lee Dan.

The premise of Season 2 would likely be a continuation of everyone’s, storyline with a spanner in the works to briefly ruin their ‘happy ever after’. We would expect to see more of Lee Dam and Woo-Yeo’s arc to develop, perhaps into a family of their own.

Fans also might expect to see more ‘Gumiho’s’ in the mix if Woo-Yeo inspires others to follow suit in the human world.
