Lyon have increased their asking price of Houssem Aouar, amid interest from Nuno’s Tottenham Hotspur, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to Le10 Sport.

What’s the story?

Le10 Sport are reporting this evening that Lyon have decided to raise their asking price of Aouar.

The French club were looking for €20-€25 million (£17.29-£21.61m) for the 23-year-old, but now they want €30-€35 million (£25.93-£30.25m) as transfer fee for the France international midfielder.

Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in the youngster, while Arsenal have had a bid rejected.

The report has added that Liverpool are the club Aouar is most likely to join this summer, as things stance.

Clever stance

It is quite clever of Lyon to increase their asking price when the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool have started to show interest.

Even for €35 million (£30.25m), Aouar would be a good signing for Liverpool or Spurs.

The Frenchman is a dynamic midfielder who would be able to make an immediate impact at Liverpool or Tottenham.

The Lyon star could replace Georginio Wijnaldum in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Tottenham could do with freshening up their midfield.

Aouar scored seven goals and gave three assists in 23 Ligue 1 starts last season.
