Newcastle United fans aren’t too happy with Steve Bruce’s comments on their chase for Arsenal youngster, Joe Willock.

The Arsenal academy product was on-loan at Newcastle last season where he scored in seven consecutive games to end the 2020/21 season.

It’s understandable that those at St James’ Park want him back, but it seems as though it will be a little tricky.

Bruce claimed that it’s ‘Arsenal’s decision’ as to whether Willock will be allowed to leave again, as quoted by the Chronicle.

But he also suggested that like ‘all the big clubs’ they will look at their players, and from there, Newcastle will simply keep ‘badgering away’.

Newcastle supporters weren’t too pleased with Bruce’s ‘big club’ comments, as they reminded him that they are also a big fish.

Willock is a player needed in Arsenal’s midfield because of his goalscoring threats, but it has to be questioned where he exactly stands in Mikel Arteta’s pecking order.

Doors seem to be open for Newcastle, so it’s understandable that their supporters are frustrated that they aren’t showing serious ambition to bring Willock to the North East once more.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Newcastle fans reacting to Bruce comments on Willock:
