All about the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover models
Naomi shares the cover with two other barrier-breaking women- Megan Thee Stallion, and Leyna Bloom. Megan is the first rapper to land the cover, and Leyna the first black and asian trans woman.
In her interview with the magazine, Megan said: “I was the little girl looking at the cover of Sports Illustrated saying, ‘One day this is going to be me.’ And I manifested it.”
Leyna has also opened up about what the cover means to her, posting on her Instagram: “This moment is so powerful because it allows me to live forever even after my physical form is gone. Not a lot of people get to live in the future, so at this moment, I’m proudly choosing to live forever.”
In a press release, MJ Day, Editor in Chief of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit said:
“If there’s one thing that our cover models have in common, it’s that they don’t have one thing in common. They look different, have different upbringings, have different passions and inspirations. But each is a reminder that beauty comes in many forms.”
