Leeds United are leading the race for reported Liverpool target Adama Traore and are planning to make a bid for the Wolverhampton Wanderers winger, according to 90min.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by 90min today that Leeds are leading Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea in the race for Traore.
The West Yorkshire club are considering making a bid for the Spain international winger.
The 25-year-old, who played for Spain at Euro 2020, himself is keen on leaving the Wanderers this summer.
Leeds Director of Football, Victor Orta, signed Traore from Aston Villa when he was at Middlesbrough, and his presence at Elland Road could play a big role in a transfer this summer.
What will Liverpool do?
It will be interesting to see what happens if Leeds make a bid for Traore.
Would that prompt Liverpool into making an offer as well?
After all, Liverpool reportedly want to sign the winger, who is rated highly by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp raved about about Traore in January 2020 after Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Wolves at Molineux.
The Birmingham Mail quoted Klopp as saying: “And Traore now, at the moment I would say he is, pretty much, unplayable. I’ve said it now a couple of times and it is still true.
“He is now not only a winger anymore, he keeps the ball, holds the ball and sets up goals, obviously. That makes it so difficult, each ball you lose is 100% a counter attack and half a goal.”
Traore scores goals, creates chances, puts good crosses in, is quick, and is strong.
The Spain international is 25 now, which means that he will improve and get better in the coming years.
The Wolves no.37 scored two goals and gave two assists in the Premier League last season, and scored four goals and provided nine assists in the league in 2019-20.
