Liverpool fans have reacted on Twitter to Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konte and Mohamed Salah in pre-season training.
Even though he is a centre-back by trade, Matip made a bursting forward run in training his Liverpool teammate, Salah, would have been proud of before putting the ball into the back of the net.
Along the way, he managed to outfox Liverpool’s summer signing, Konate.
The fact that Matip got the better of Konate in an attacking situation wasn’t missed by the Liverpool supporters.
There were many things about Matip’s goal that left them surprised.
One is the fact that it was their centre-back channelling his inner Sadio Mane and then it was the player himself getting the better of Konate.
But Salah, who was on the opposing team, was frustrated at the goal going in and that was also noticed by the Liverpool supporters.
It was a great clip posted by Liverpool’s Twitter account because it got a lot of their fans talking.
Matip isn’t known for carrying the ball from deep, but perhaps he is practising a new skill ahead of the new season.
