Dunfermline manager Peter Grant has refused to be drawn on a loan move for Rangers youngster Kai Kennedy – but admits he is still looking to add new faces to his squad.

The Rangers youngster spent last season with Inverness CT then Raith Rovers as he got much-needed first-team football and HITC understands a deal to take Kennedy to East End Park for the season is close to being completed.
After watching his side trash Dumbarton in the Premier Sports Cup yesterday Grant wasn’t giving anything away when asked directly about a possible move to sign Kennedy on loan.
“Aye, he [Kennedy] is a good player,” Grant responded when asked about interest in the Rangers kid.
“We are still trying to get bodies in. That’s been held up a little bit because of different situations — but hopefully we can add more quality.
“It’s nothing down to us. We thought everything was over the line the other day.
“It’s not about the boys we are trying to get in — it’s just a case of certain circumstances arising. We can’t help those and the boys can’t help those.
“It’s nothing to do with money, and we also have the Covid situation which is affecting all of the clubs.
“Some things can be unforeseen and, of course, it can be frustrating, but it has given me the opportunity to see more of the boys who are here. That is a big thing.”
Rangers kid could play at a higher level this season
While Dunfermline would be a good place for Kennedy to go, after he impressed in the Championship last season, it would really be better for him to go to a higher level.

However, after Lewis Mayo spent time at Dunfermline last season, Rangers appear happy with how the Fifers handle their young players.
The most important thing for Kennedy is getting consistent first-team minutes though and it appears Rangers are happy for him to join the Pars and aid their fight for promotion to the Premiership.
