Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Udinese and Watford are now competing with Celtic for Rennes right-back Brandon Soppy.
What’s the story?
Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano has reported on Twitter that Celtic are interested in signing Soppy.
The Hoops are looking for a new right-back this summer, and the former Scottish Premiership champions have the Rennes player on their list.
Aurelio Buta and George Baldock are the other two right-backs Celtic have on their list.
The Italian journalist has claimed that Premier League club Watford and Serie A outfit Udinese are also interested in Soppy.
Earlier this month, Romano reported on Twitter that Celtic are in talks with Rennes over the 19-year-old.

Big threat for Celtic
Udinese and Watford are owned by the Pozzo family, and they are a big threat to Celtic.
Yes, the Hoops are a big club, but they are in the Scottish Premiership, which is not at the level of Premier League or Serie A.
Udinese and Watford would be able offer more salary to the teenager and would also be able to meet Rennes’ transfer demands more easily than Celtic.
However, Celtic could give Soppy a better chance of playing in the first team.
